Music power couple Shawn “Jay Z” Carter and Beyonce made a nice chunk of change this year putting them at the top of Forbes’ “Celerity 100 List” as the highest earning couple. The couple who has been busy touring, and inking business deals pulled in a collective $107.5 million. Separately, Beyonce pulled in $54 million putting her at #34 on the list with Jay Z right behind her with $53.5 million. Jay Z’s 2016 income was fueled not by touring or new music, but from his many business ventures like TIDAL, the music streaming service, his Roc Nation entertainment group and his super expensive champagne company Armand de Brignac. Beyonce’s earning were boosted by her “Lemonade” album and playing 19 shows between June 2015 and June 2016. Meanwhile Taylor swift tops the list as the world’s top earning celebrity with $170 million.
The only other couple on this year’s Celeb 100: Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. The former’s Deflategate fiasco didn’t flatten his earnings—he led the NFL in merchandise sales in 2015 and signed a contract extension in March with a $28 million signing bonus—en route to a $44 million total payday and the No. 54 spot on the list.
